When Scott Mullins relocated to Milwaukee, the first places he visited were Lotus Land Records, Atomic Records, Rushmor and Bull’s-eye. Yes, you could call Scott a Record Geek. Scott brings to RadioMilwaukee the experiences of club DJ, record producer, concert promoter, festival producer, television producer / director, public relations manager and most recently several years as host at Triple-A pioneer non-commercial station WFPK in Louisville, Kentucky.

While at WFPK, he hosted and produced Live Lunch, which featured performances and interviews before a live studio audience by local acts and national artists such as Cracker, Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket and Robert Randolph & The Family Band.

Over the course of his career, Scott has also interviewed B.B. King, Patti Smith, REM, The Grateful Dead, Ani Difranco, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells, among others. In 2001, Scott became WFPK’s afternoon drive host, achieving the highest ratings ever for the station. Scott also became the first, and only, public radio host to ever win a Best of Louisville award for Best Radio DJ, receiving the honor for the three consecutive years before coming to Milwaukee In 2004, Scott took his love of vintage funk, soul and R&B to help create and host the weekly Dirty Soul Party. The DSP, broadcast live from the Red Lounge, quickly became the hottest club night in the city, its appeal cutting across social lines and drawing the most diverse crowd in Louisville.

Scott is looking forward to bringing his love and enthusiasm for music to kindred souls in Milwaukee.

    Hey Scott,

being a native here, I guess it’s just ingrained in us. i am 36 and as far as I can remember it’s always been that way. It is interesting to hear that it is not this way everywhere. We do all complain about the whole eastside parking issue though, but i cannot recall hearing people complaining (obsessively) about the other issues so much…

An aside to the taxes issue… the city recently had to repair a portion of the sidewalk in front of my home and sent me a bill for $218!
